Meet Kennedy Heath
Kennedy Heath is a master's student at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and a violinist from Cincinnati, Ohio, who earned her undergraduate degree in violin performance under the tutelage of Kevin Lawrence. She discovered the violin at the age of three and began her musical journey studying under UNCSA alumna Diana LeGrand using the Suzuki method. As a Suzuki certified teacher, Kennedy incorporates this renowned teaching philosophy into her work, fostering musical growth in students of all ages.

During her elementary years, she has participated in numerous Suzuki violin summer programs in Virginia, working with several distinguished instructors. After being accepted into Cincinnati's School for Creative and Performing Arts in the eighth grade, she resumed her studies with Ms. LeGrand. Kennedy earned the highest rating for five consecutive years in the Ohio Muisc Education Association's annual competiton, won the prestigious Corbett Mayerson Competiton, and served as concertmaster of the state-ranked SCPA Chamber Orchestra.

Kennedy has performed with the Western Piedmont Orchestra, Salisbury Symphony, and the Winston-Salem Symphony Orchestras. She has also toured throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., with the Pan American Chamber Orchestra. She has participated in masterclasses with renowned violinist such as Midori Goto, Hilary Hahn, Axel Strauss, and Grace Park. As a passionate chamber musician, she has enjoyed performing in vsrious string quartets over the past several years.
In the summer of 2023, Kennedy performed in Italy as part of the Brancaleoni International Music Festival in Piobicco, where she played chamber music and participated in lessons and masterclasses. She remains deeply grateful to all the teachers and mentors who have shaped her artistry and looks forward to sharing her expertise and love of music with her students.
